We report a case of an aortic endocarditis caused by Enterococcus faecium in a 34 year old patient diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. A Doppler echocardiogram showed an anterior mitral valve leaflet aneurysm, which made surgery necessary. Mitral valve leaflet aneurysm is a rare, though well-known complication of aortic valve endocarditis which can eventually perforate.
