[Concepts of G. A. Shmidt concerning the principles of ecologic embryology and their use in current research].

Under consideration are principle conceptions of G. A. Shmidt on the ecological method in embryology: succession between the compared species, difference in the ecology and organization of adult individuals, distinctions in the course of embryogenesis. Difficulties in a strict observation of all these principles are analyzed in comparative embryological investigations. Possible use of the above principles for studying the intrespecies variability of ontogenetical processes is shown.
