[Pleasures and pains of a beginning researcher. What is being withheld at the presentation of a study].

This article endeavours to provide information about the process of conducting research. In presenting research, details of this process are often overlooked and left out. As these are part of the development of a study, the importance of such information seems obvious. Therefore highlighting and illustrating crucial phases of conducting research may not only provide background information to one particular study, but also provide a basis of comparison for other researchers. The article focuses on researchers who have just started their first study. Drawing on my personal experiences as a junior researcher, I will attempt to point out the difficult, but also the joyous parts in conducting research.
