Induction of rat hepatic mixed function monooxygenases by levamisole.

The effects of levamisole administration (20 mg/kg, i.p. daily for 10 days) on various parameters of hepatic microsomal metabolism in the famale rat were examined. Levamisole pretreatment resulted in significant increases over control values in the metabolism of aminopyrine and aniline in vitro, and in microsomal content of cytochrome P-450 and cytochrome b5.
