Abstract
Belgian dentists are, during their undergraduate studies, not enough informed on court and insurance procedures in case one of their patients gets injured in an accident or assault. This article focuses on the correct interpretation of some widely used, but often misunderstood, principles. The role of the treating dentist and the dental advisor of the insurer is described and a plea is made for a better cooperation between them, based on honest and correct reporting.
