The increasing amount of psychopharmacologic drugs and their widespread use in medical disciplines other than psychiatry ask for a basic information of possibilities, risk and limits of these modern therapeutic agents. This paper reviews the most common psychiatric syndroms in dermatologic practice and provides some hints for a reasonable administration of these drugs.
