Numerous investigators have investigated medicaments claimed to reduce post-operative edema. The majority of these investigators utilized subjective measurements which are of doubtful statistical significance. A number of objective methods of measuring oedema following surgical removal of impacted wisdom teeth are reported. The results obtained from these methods were compared and a definite correlation between them was found. A sample of 600 patients was investigated for this purpose.
