Abstract
Hospital systems sold or converted unprofitable facilities curbed their acquisitive appetites and honed their productivity and quality management in 1989, and the bottom line blossomed. Profits rose 10% for the systems reporting financial data in Modern Healthcare's 14th annual Multi-unit Providers Survey.
