Abstract
Laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures are rising in popularity and frequency, and surgeons prefer using electrosurgical tools to do those procedures. But the limited visibility in this type of operation and the potential for mishaps with the surgical tools has raised concerns that more accidents might occur during surgery and that physicians and hospitals might face increased liability.
