Abstract

Restructuring in a unionized environment doesn't have to be a nightmare. You must assess your current environment to be able to make smart strategic choices. Your strategic choices will lead you to an appropriate union involvement approach and guide you through the dozens of detailed design and implementation issues. However, don't worry so much about them being smart choices that you make no choices. When it comes to restructuring with unions, no plan is the worst plan.
