Abstract
Healthcare providers new to managed care must carefully examine managed care contracts before signing them to be sure the contracts will be beneficial and sustainable in the long run. Providers must scrutinize managed care contracts to ascertain the level of risk and reward they will share, how well patient care efficiencies will be promoted, how much their patient volume will increase, the feasibility of the pricing structure, and the quality of the physicians targeted for inclusion on the managed care panel.
