Instead of caring for patients, nurses and other healthcare workers at long term facilities are increasingly becoming patients themselves. Over the past decade, the injury rate among nursing home workers jumped by 55%, with more than 200,000 of these workers injured annually. This article discusses the types of injuries suffered and how they can be prevented.
