Can Nurse. 1999 Feb;95(2):34-7.
As a group, nurses have traditionally expressed ambivalence toward feminists and have at times even distanced themselves from the feminist movement. The reason is obvious: Feminists have focused much of their energy on the non-traditional fields of work for women, with the result that women in traditionally female occupations such as nursing and teaching have felt ignored and even silently chastized by feminists.
