With the growing number of allied health personnel in hospitals comes the need to control the quality of patient care on a variety of levels. The diversity of backgrounds and the uncertainty of functions put allied health care workers in a precarious position among the medical and nursing staffs. One hospital's method of assessing the credentials and defining the duties of these workers is presented.
