Sergentomyia trouilleti, (Diptera, Phlebotomidae), new species collected in the north of the People's Republic of Congo is described from three female specimens. This sandfly is clearly differenciated from other species of the genus Sergentomyia by the morphology of the pharynx and the cibarium.
