Interactive video technology is a unique and innovative way to maintain professional competency in health care. Its capabilities for individualization and trainee feedback complement its institutional flexibility and make this a truly revolutionary method for continuing education and initial instruction of all health professionals. Interactive video can be employed to evaluate objectively hospital staff performance standards and as such may help satisfy the hospital's burden of staff quality control. In addition, it may be a cost-saving measure by reducing training personnel expenditures. The following article describes the benefits of this budding technology and its application in health care.
