38 human placentae of the 14th week of normal gestation were studied ultrastructurally. The thickness of the syncytial layer of villi varied markedly, and the syncytial cytoplasm showed marked vacuolization, which increased in the course of pregnancy in association with intensification of processes of resorption and absorption and hormonal function of the syncytium. Toward the end of the 2nd and at the beginning of the 3rd trimester of pregnancy, hypertrophic cytotrophoblastic cells appeared, whose ultrastructural character indicated functional stimulation. This observation contradicts the widely held view that cytotrophoblastic cells undergo gradual reduction in the course of pregnancy.
对38例正常妊娠第14周的人胎盘进行了超微结构研究。绒毛合体层的厚度变化显著,合体细胞质出现明显的空泡化,随着妊娠进程中合体细胞吸收和激素功能的增强,空泡化程度增加。在妊娠晚期第二个月结束时和第三个月开始时,出现了肥大的细胞滋养层细胞,其超微结构特征表明受到了功能刺激。这一观察结果与普遍认为的细胞滋养层细胞在妊娠过程中逐渐减少的观点相矛盾。
