The author presents an analysis of the results of operations performed for struma in 520 patients. There was one lethal issue (0.2%), intraoperative hemorrhage was noted in 2.1%, a damage of the n. recurrens -- in 0.9% of patients. The method of preoperative preparation and postoperative management in these patients is described.
