Abstract

It is noted that psoriasis appears not to have been described until the return of explorers from the New World back to the Old. Thus, it is suggested that in fact psoriasis is a new disease to the Old World. One implication of this is that any infectious agent which is a candidate cofactor in the pathogenesis of psoriasis must itself be new to the Old World after the time of the explorers.

值得注意的是，直到探险家从新大陆返回旧大陆之后，银屑病才似乎被描述出来。因此，有人提出实际上银屑病对于旧大陆来说是一种新疾病。这其中的一个含义是，任何作为银屑病发病机制中潜在辅助因素的传染原，在探险家时代之后，其本身对于旧大陆来说必然也是新的。
