[The clinical functional status of the thyroid and the cortisol level in those living in a region of ecological stress].

The inhabitants of the industrial town Balakovo, experiencing the load of anthropogenic effect due to the presence of chemical enterprises and atomic station showed the changes in thyroid function of the thyroid gland of hyperthyroid type and the rise of cortisole content in blood serum. This reaction has been evaluated as compensator one on chronic effect of anthropogenic pollution.
