By looking for root causes for accidents and incidents through an ergonomic evaluation of the task demands, environment, organizational factors, and workers' capabilities to perform tasks, identification of interventions can be made to reduce the risk for injury in most situations. Small changes can make significant differences and give a clearer understanding of how the workplace environment, management policies, individual capacities, and job demands impact the safety and health of individuals on the job.
