In experiments on guinea pigs with experimental atherosclerosis, vanadium pentoxide retarded the development of vascular pathomorphological changes, supported cholesterol metabolism, and activated oxidoreductive processes. Correlation and regression analyses proved that vanadium pentoxide has a beneficial effect on the course of experimental atherosclerosis in guinea pigs to the influence of this drug on oxido-reductive processes.
