Synthesis of new benzophenone derivatives with potential antiinflammatory activity.

2-Methoxy-, 2-hydroxy- and 2-acetoxy-5-methylbenzophenones and their 5-carboxyl derivatives were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis and IR spectra. The results of prostaglandin synthetase inhibition are reported for some of these compounds.
