Bioethics and the problem of natural teleology.

In this paper it is argued that a re-evaluation of a teleological philosophy of nature is necessary because, first, the acceptance of natural theology would be in more accordance with the position of (teological) (wo)man as a natural product of a natural evolutionary process and, second, it seems to be a prerequisite for the formulation of an adequate bio- und eco-ethics which stresses the "intrinsic value" of nature.
