[What Karol Benni has left us].

The life, the professional and scientific career of Karol Benni (1843-1916) one of the most important polish otiatrists of international renown, a member of a number of scientific societies, an editor and a publisher of scientific periodicals is presented. His great achievements as a social activist particularly in Warsaw Society for Charity is shown as well as his extensive activities as a patron of arts, first of all in the Fine Arts Society, Society for Supporting of People's Industry, the Museum of Industry and Agriculture and also his help in building Adam Mickiewicz monument in Warsaw. Also presented is his personality, extensive social life, far fetched altruism and continual help for people with their varios problems.
