Education of cancer patients within three acute care hospitals was found to be highly variable and often inadequate. Our experience to improve the patient education process and coordinate print materials led to coordinated and effective evidence-based practice.
Education about disease, treatment, and maintaining lifestyle are achievable outcomes with adequate education and support. Educational goals can be met through the use of evidence-based practice.
