[Western books on nursing published in modern China].

In 1905, the Hu bing yao shu (Essentials of Nursing) by Chinese Medical Association is the earliest nursing book was published. Beginning from 1920, there are professional nursing books published. After the setting up of Chinese Nursing Association, nursing curricula, examination, registration were unified, and Guangxie Bookstore was the Press to publish nursing monographs, which played an important role in promoting nursing education. In 1949, about 100 kinds of such books were recorded. Among them, most translated books or compiled translations were influential.
