In order to elucidate the relationship between dopaminergic and serotoninergic mechanisms in regulating secretion of human growth hormone (hGH), the effect of cyproheptadine, an antiserotoninergic agent, on l-DOPA-induced hGH secretion was studied in normal subjects. Oral administration of 500 mg of l-DOPA caused a rise in plasma hGH in 6 of 7 subjects studied. This rise in plasma hGH was significantly blunted by the intravenous infusion of 5 mg of cyproheptadine. These results suggest the close relationship between dopamine and serotonin in the control of hGH secretion.
为了阐明多巴胺能和5-羟色胺能机制在调节人生长激素（hGH）分泌中的关系，在正常受试者中研究了抗5-羟色胺能药物赛庚啶对左旋多巴诱导的hGH分泌的影响。口服500mg左旋多巴使7名受试对象中的6名血浆hGH升高。静脉输注5mg赛庚啶可显著减弱血浆hGH的这种升高。这些结果表明多巴胺和5-羟色胺在hGH分泌的控制中密切相关。
