Albino rats were given injections of sodium ribonucleate (5 mg/100 g) daily for 14 days. The intensity of P32-orthophosphate, C14-orotate, or H3-uridine incorporation in mitochondrial RNA of the liver, heart and spleen was studied. It was found that exogenous ribonucleate increases the incorporation of the labeled precursors in the total RNA, rRNA and tRNA, this increase being more pronounced in tRNA than in rRNA.
