The indirect hemagglutination test with erythrocytes sensitized with antibody to LCM and Tacaribe viruses, most typical members of of arenaviruses, has been developed. This test is a sensitive method for detection of arenaviruses in infected materials in vitro. The indirect hemagglutination test and the indirect hemagglutination-inhibition test revealed cross-interaction between LCM and Tacaribe viruses which opens new approaches for group and species identification of arenaviruses.
已开发出用淋巴细胞脉络丛脑膜炎病毒（LCM）和塔卡里伯病毒（Tacaribe virus）（沙粒病毒最典型的成员）抗体致敏红细胞的间接血凝试验。该试验是体外检测感染材料中沙粒病毒的灵敏方法。间接血凝试验和间接血凝抑制试验揭示了LCM病毒和塔卡里伯病毒之间的交叉相互作用，这为沙粒病毒的分组和种属鉴定开辟了新途径。
