Several groups are intensifying efforts to get out the facts to hospitals to help them determine the benefits of costly healthcare information technology and judge vendors' pitches. Three initiatives are settling into a lineup of guidance on planning for healthcare computerization. These efforts seek to break a pattern of hospital inaction and factually thin conclusions.
