To observe the changes in serum leptin levels during normal menstrual cycles in women for the purpose of investigating the association of leptin with female fertility.
Serum samples were collected from 35 healthy women on day 2 and 8 of the menstrual cycle and days 1 and 6 after ovulation, respectively. Serum leptin levels in these samples were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and the results statistically analyzed.
Significant increase in the leptin levels was observed after ovulation, reaching the peak level (19.8+/-1.61) ng/ml on day 6 after ovulation. During follicular phase, serum leptin level dropped to its lowest point of 17.1+/-1.24 and 17.6+/-1.32 ng/ml respectively on day 2 and 8 when a new menstrual cycle started.
Serum leptin levels undergo significant changes with progress of the menstrual cycles, suggesting a close relationship between leptin and female reproductive function.
观察女性正常月经周期中血清瘦素水平的变化,以探讨瘦素与女性生育能力的关系。
分别在月经周期的第2天和第8天以及排卵后的第1天和第6天,采集35名健康女性的血清样本。采用酶联免疫吸附测定法(ELISA)检测这些样本中的血清瘦素水平,并对结果进行统计学分析。
排卵后瘦素水平显著升高,在排卵后第6天达到峰值水平(19.8±1.61)ng/ml。在卵泡期,当新的月经周期开始时,血清瘦素水平分别在第2天和第8天降至最低点,为17.1±1.24和17.6±1.32 ng/ml。
血清瘦素水平随月经周期的进展发生显著变化,提示瘦素与女性生殖功能密切相关。
