Abstract

In six surgically proved intrathyroidal parathyroid tumors, neither thyroid scan nor gross appearance of the thyroid at surgery allowed reliable detection of parathyroid glands wholly within the thyroid. Preoperative selective catheterization of thyroid veins with radioimmunoassay for parathyroid hormone facilitated successful removal of hyperfunctioning intrathyroidal parathyroid tissue in all five cases in which it was performed.

在6例经手术证实的甲状腺内甲状旁腺肿瘤中，甲状腺扫描及手术中甲状腺的大体外观均无法可靠地检测出完全位于甲状腺内的甲状旁腺。术前对甲状腺静脉进行选择性插管并采用放射免疫分析法检测甲状旁腺激素，在实施该方法的所有5例病例中均成功切除了功能亢进的甲状腺内甲状旁腺组织。
