Abstract

AIM

To investigate the feasibility of detecting anti-Schistosoma japonicum antibodies in saliva.

METHODS

Saliva and serum samples of 5 infected, 7 reinfected and 8 treated rabbits were collected at different times periods. The CAb in saliva and serum was detected by using ELISA.

RESULTS

The sensitivity of ELISA was 94.7% for saliva and 100% for serum. The specificity of ELISA was 100% for both saliva and serum.

CONCLUSION

Saliva can be used to detect circulating antibodies for the diagnosis of schistosomiasis japonica.

目的

探讨检测唾液中抗日本血吸虫抗体的可行性。

方法

收集5只感染兔、7只再感染兔和8只治疗后兔在不同时间段的唾液和血清样本。采用酶联免疫吸附测定法(ELISA)检测唾液和血清中的循环抗体(CAb)。

结果

ELISA检测唾液的敏感性为94.7%,检测血清的敏感性为100%。ELISA检测唾液和血清的特异性均为100%。

结论

唾液可用于检测循环抗体以诊断日本血吸虫病。
