The purpose of this study is to review isolated sphenoid sinus disease, to establish correct diagnosis and to treat it effectively in the future.
26 patients underwent endoscopic surgery, in which 20 sphenoid sinus mucocoeles were removed and 6 sphenoid sinuses were explored. 3 sphenoid sinus mucocoeles were removed by external approach, 1 patient underwent skull base surgery and decompression of optic nerve.
24 patients were free from disease postoperatively within 0.5-4 years follow-up, 2 patients underwent re-operation because of recurrence, 1 patient was undergoing radiotherapy, 3 patients could not contact.
This study shows that CT not only makes contribution to establish correct diagnosis but also plays an important role in surgery of isolated sphenoid sinus disease. Endoscopic surgery is valuable in treatment for benign disease of sphenoid sinus.
本研究旨在回顾孤立性蝶窦疾病,以确立正确诊断并为未来有效治疗该疾病提供依据。
26例患者接受了内镜手术,其中切除20例蝶窦黏液囊肿并探查6例蝶窦。3例蝶窦黏液囊肿通过外部入路切除,1例患者接受了颅底手术及视神经减压术。
24例患者在0.5至4年的随访期内术后无疾病复发,2例患者因复发接受了再次手术,1例患者正在接受放疗,3例患者失去联系。
本研究表明,CT不仅有助于确立正确诊断,而且在孤立性蝶窦疾病的手术中也发挥着重要作用。内镜手术在蝶窦良性疾病的治疗中具有重要价值。
