[Pharmacological study of a series of indandione derivatives proposed as anti-inflammatory agents].

A variety of aryl-indandiones were tested in rats and mice with the aim of separating the antiinflammatory activity from anticoagulant and ulcerogenic activity. Previously reported antiinflammatory activity was confirmed. All compounds also inhibit blood coagulation. However, compounds (II) and (IV) did not show ulcerogenic activity.
