To describe two cases of sarcomatoid renal carcinoma, one of them is alive after five years from surgery.
Both patients had undergone radical nephrectomy, without complementary treatment.
One patient is alive after five years; the second patient presented acute renal failure and died after five days from surgery.
Sarcomatoid renal carcinoma is a uncommon variety of renal cell carcinoma, with highly malignant behavior. The median survival is six months, but exceptional cases with larger survival (five years) have been reported in the literature.
