Abstract

In 185 patients (106 with asthma and 79 with COPD) peak inspiratory flow (PIFR) without resistance and across valves of popular in Poland dry powder inhalers (DPI): Discus, Turbuhaler and Aerolizer were recorded. "In-Check" device was used for these purposes. Clement-Clarke principle of minimal and optimal PIFR for lung drug deposition was accepted. According to this principle the results were presented on the attached table: [table: see text] Almost all patients with asthma and COPD can use Discus effectively, for other DPI's "In Check" investigation is often necessary.
