Emerging fundamental themes in modern medicinal chemistry.

Speakers and participants at the 12th Symposium on Medicinal Chemistry in Eastern England, held April 26, 2001, in Hatfield, U.K., considered a wide spectrum of therapeutic targets. From the talks and discussions, two important common themes were evident: the validation of targets and models and the integration of a range of disciplines early in the medicinal chemistry process.
