Although hemangiopericytoma may arise in any anatomic site, it rarely develops in the greater omentum. To our knowledge, only ten cases have been reported to date in the English-language literature. We report herein an additional case of hemangiopericytoma arising in the greater omentum. A review of the reported cases suggests that surgical resection provides the only chance of cure and that a high mitotic index (>4/10 high-power fields) and a tumor size of > or =20 cm predict an unfavorable prognosis after resection.
尽管血管外皮细胞瘤可发生于任何解剖部位，但很少发生于大网膜。据我们所知，迄今为止英文文献中仅报道了10例。我们在此报告1例发生于大网膜的血管外皮细胞瘤。对已报道病例的回顾表明，手术切除是唯一的治愈机会，有丝分裂指数高（>4/10个高倍视野）且肿瘤大小≥20 cm预示切除术后预后不良。
