Abstract

OBJECTIVE

To discuss the avoidance strategies of severe perioperative complications in surgical treatments of obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS).

METHOD

180 cases of uvulopalatopharyngoplasty(UPPP) and 1 case of nose bleeding were analyzed, 10 cases of severe complications reported.

RESULTS

1 case of Angina pectoris and 1 case of infarction 3 case of nasopharyngeal stenosis, 3 cases pharyngeal bleeding, 1 case of palatal incompetence, 1 case of death occurred postoperatively.

CONCLUSION

OSAHS is a systemic disease syndrome. The perioperative treatments is very important for the prevention of some severe complications occurrence.
