Dacron velour sheeting can be used as a backing on a fenestrated, autogenous, cartilage auricular framework. The overlying skin will adhere through the fenestrations to the Dacron, and satisfactory contour is maintained after the ear is elevated from the head and skin grafted on the posterior surface.
