[Electrocardiographic picture of a previous myocardial infarction in a patient with liver echinococcosis cyst].

We report a case of a 32-year-old man who was hospitalized at the Department of Surgery for hepatic cystic echinococcosis. Standard preoperative electrocardiogram revealed the presence of Q waves in the inferior leads, suggesting the presence of a previous myocardial infarction. Two-dimensional echocardiography showed a hepatic cystic echinococcosis raising the diaphragmatic wall of the left ventricle. The electrocardiogram performed the day after surgery showed disappearance of Q waves in the inferior leads. Thus, it is suggested that the preoperative electrocardiographic picture of a previous myocardial infarction was determined by the mass of the hepatic cystic echinococcosis.
