Numerous polls and surveys have been conducted in recent months to determine public attitudes toward reform of the health care system. These polls, commissioned by independent foundations as well as the health insurance industry, have been employed to measure public opinion on the nation's health care system and the variety of reform proposals currently being examined. The major findings show that the American public is still genuinely confused about the health care issue and remains divided on how to solve the health care crisis facing the United States.
