Abstract
OBJECTIVE
To investigate the components of Smilax perfoliate.
METHOD
The chemical components were isolated by solvent extraction and column chromatography. The chemical structures were identified on the base of physical and spectral data.
RESULT
Nine compounds were isolated and identified as palmitic acid(I), beta-sitosterol(II), delta 7-5 alpha-cholesten-3-beta-ol(III), naringenin(IV), succinic acid(V), apigenin(VI), resveratrol(VII), daucosterol(VIII) and juncusyl ester B(IX).
CONCLUSION
Compound(I), (III), (IV), (VI) and (IX) were obtained from the genus Smilax for the first time.
