For many women with rheumatoid arthritis, pregnancy can bring a welcome, temporary relief from symptoms. The baby's birth, however, can end the remission and coping with the infant and the return of difficulties associated with the disease can cause particular problems. In this article, the author highlights potential difficulties both before and after the birth of the baby, including the complexities of drug therapy during pregnancy, and offers practical advice to assist in their resolution.
