Impact of role-sets on implementing self-care theory with children.

Child health nurses' perceptions about their role-relationships (role-sets) to both their patients and parents of their patients may have contributed to the lack of literature on hospital nursing of children within Orem's Self-Care Nursing Theory. These perceptions and their impact are examined historically within three 20th century periods.
