Ehrenberg, one of the most important scientists of the 19th century, was born in the little town of Delitzsch, north of Leipzig. The paper deals with the life and scientific work of Ehrenberg, and especially with the Ehrenberg Collection, its origins and exhibits, in the museum of Schlob Delitzsch.
