Procedure in Case of Suspected Mycobacterial Infection of Lymph Nodes of the Neck. Cervical lymphadenitis of unknown origin is frequently observed in ENT. Besides metastasis, lymphomas and non specific cervical lymphadenitis, tuberculosis or infection with atypical mycobacteria has to be considered. This article tries to present the state of the art procedure in diagnostics to differentiate tuberculosis and atypical mycobacterial infections from other pathologies of cervical lymph nodes.
