The paper analyzes the results of the treatment of 26 patients with atherosclerosis obliterans of the lower extremities, which has been performed to make an intensive hypolipidemic preparation for an operation. The comprehensive approach based on the combination of medication (nicotinic acid, and its derivatives, cholestyramine, and SKH -2K charcoal hemoperfusion ) and efferent therapy reduced the plasma levels of total cholesterol by 27%, triglycerides to 48%, low density lipoprotein cholesterol to 40%, and increased high density lipoprotein cholesterol up to 72%. The similar course therapy may be repeatedly used in a follow-up of this group of patients.
